The “Arabic-Azerbaijani Phrasebook with Transcriptions” book co-authored by head of the department of the Institute of Oriental Studies associate professor Mammadali Babashli, PhD in Philology Abdin Evis Jones Muhamad and Gafar Ojagli was published.

The guide for interpreters, providing guide services has been developed to facilitate communication with tourists from Arab countries. The publication can be used by travel agents, employees of museums, cafes, restaurants, employees of shopping centers and drivers of vehicles.

On December 11, a meeting devoted to the 60th anniversary of the Institute of Oriental Studies named after academician Z.M.Bunyadov was held.

The event was attended by prominent statesmen and scientists, representatives of public and international organizations, heads of various state institutions and universities, directors of institutions and organizations.

Participants got acquainted with the exhibition dedicated to the memory of great scientist, pedagogue, professor Aida Imanguliyeva and an exhibition reflecting the scientific achievements of the Institute of Oriental Studies.

Collective of the Institute of Oriental Studies after Academician Ziya Bunyadov visited the grave of Professor A.Imanguliyeva in the 2nd Alley of Honor and laid a wreath at the grave of the scientist on 19 September.

Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies, Academician Govhar Bakhshaliyeva spoke about the importance of the rich scientific heritage of Professor Aida Imanguliyeva, her merits in the training of scientific personnel, recalled that she was a skillful scientific organizer during the period of the leadership of the Institute of Oriental Studies.

On September 4-7 in Tatarstan, Kazan was held UNESCO Forum on Intercultural Dialogue. The main purpose is the dissemination of positive experience of peaceful coexistence of representatives of different nationalities and faiths, an exchange of views on this issue between state and scientific figures and representatives of the public.
